International Student Insurance Guidance
1. The Ministry of Education’s Guideline for International Students requires all international students (non- Koreans) attending Sogang University, to have health insurance during the time of their stay in Korea. Please note that students who do not enroll in a valid insurance certificate will have limited access (restrictions in requesting for certificates, declaring majors, etc.) to SAINT portal,

Sogang University has designed the Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan for students to provide affordable coverage for accidents, illness, etc. at a lower rate than in the case of individual enrollment. It is highly advised that all international students read the following instructions carefully and enroll in the Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan. So please make sure to enroll in the insurance plan and submit a valid insurance certificate by the deadline indicated below.
Students subject to Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan: All International Students who are staying in Korea.
※ Students who are waived from the Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan
① Students staying abroad
② Students enrolled in private insurance(domestic/overseas) equivalent to the group insurance
- above ① should submit a document proving their stay abroad, and above ② should submit the certificate of insurance and insurance policy to OIA.
Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan
Detailed information of Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan for each school year will be noticed on the Office of International Affairs webpage. At the notice, students can find detailed information of Sogang University International Student Insurance Plan’s insurance coverage period, premium etc.
Restrictions on Students without Valid Medical Insurance
If the international students who do not enroll in a valid insurance, they will be restricted from using the SAINT portal.
- Restricted/limited use of SAINT functions: Browsing Courses Completed, Certificate Issuance, Major Application & Change, Exchange Student, Facilities Reservation)
